Women risked their lives to gain Timor Leste's independence. Today, they are succeeding in changing the politics of this tiny South-East Asian island. Yet, women still face serious obstacles -- most are barred from inheriting property, domestic violence remains a widespread problem and women typically have less schooling than men. This short video looks at the issues that need to be addressed in the political sphere to advance the rights of women in Timor Leste.
